Lycoris squamigera

Native Range: Asia

Surprise lilies earn their name from their pale pink flowers, which grow to around two feet tall in a handful of days. These flowers burst out what appear to be dead leaves, leading them to be called the “Resurrection lily.” Like other flowers in the amaryllis family, the flowers are visible in a cluster at the top of long, otherwise unadorned, stems.
