Adiantum pedatum

Native Range: North America

Adiantum pedatum thrives outdoors. While it generally prefers rich, moist growing conditions, such as the undergrowth of forests, the deciduous, nonflowering plant can also grow on rock faces. The maidenhair fern is very important to local Indigenous cultures, with more than 48 documented uses, from medicinal, as a pain reliever, to artistic, as a dark fiber to create contrasting designs in basket weaving.
