Italian arum

Italian arum, native to much of the Mediterranean region, is a low-growing plant with distinctive veins on its leaves. In the spring, it produces a white, almost lily-like flower, which is followed by red fruit in the summer. The flowers of Italian arum generate heat, which can be 50 degrees warmer than the ambient air, to aid in pollination by attracting flies.
